Fixing Squeaking Doors
My home had developed a personality of its own—and not a quiet one. My daughter says our house sounds like a scene from a horror movie. From the steel buglar door to the bedroom and bathroom doors, the "symphony of squeaks" is constant. It is just annoying; those creaks are a sign of friction and wear that would eventually damage the hinges.
So, I grabbed a can of WD-40 Multi-Use Product (the Smart Straw is a lifesaver for hinge pins!). I went room-to-room on a mission to "Repair, Don't Replace."
Using the precision straw, I applied a quick burst of WD-40 directly each hinge pin.I swung each door back and forth a few times to let the formula penetrate deep into the mechanism. The change was instant. The resistance vanished, and the screeching stopped mid-swing.
In less than 30 minutes, I restored every squeaking door in my house to quiet conditions. By choosing to maintain and lubricate rather than replace the hinges, I saved money, kept metal out of the landfill, and finally brought some peace and quiet back to my home. It’s amazing how a little bit of maintenance can make a house feel premium again!
A quick spray of WD-40 changed my "horror house" into a "paradise retreat"
